In the past few years, Ireland has had only one or two major major snowstorms back in around 2010. Since coming to Toronto, we have experienced several in the past few weeks. Here are a couple of videos of the snow hitting the Six. 

This weekend will see the UFC open up a new female division, the women's featherweight (145lb) division with the inaugural title on the line between former UFC Bantamweight champion Holly Holm as she takes multiple time Muai Thai World champion Germaine de Randamie in the Barclays Centre, Brooklyn.

Back in March, Ireland celebrated the centenary of the 1916 Easter Rising. The main State commemoration took place on Easter Sunday which saw a massive parade that consisted of the Army, the Navy, the Air Force, the Gardai and other emergency services march through Dublin City Centre. Over the weekend, the weather in Ireland took a sharp turn and the temperature began to plummet. The sharp temperature plummet has resulted in a blanket of fog moving in over Ireland. This weekend will see the UFC put on two separate events, one in Belfast and one in Sao Paulo. Despite UFC Belfast seeing the peoples main event of Neil Seery vs Ian McCall scrapped, it still leaves us with over twenty fights to watch tomorrow evening, not including the Bellator and Invicta fightcards. In part two of my journey into photography, I have a look back at the first twelve months of having a Digital SLR. I recall the advantages, the drawbacks and all the adventures I had in that first year of moving from film photography to digital photography.

It is a hobby that has consumed nearly half of my life and about 90% of my disposable income. This is how my love for photography had humble beginnings with a couple of disposable camera's and a fifteen year old film SLR which developed into the obsession that I have today.

So after a solid year of writing just about sports, I have decided to start doing a general blog. I will still blog about sports, particularly MMA on a regular basis. I will also blog a bit about photography and about my upcoming travels to Canada.

The UFC may have a new star on its hand’s in the form of the newly crowned Cage Warriors featherweight champion Paddy ‘The Baddy’ Pimblett. At only twenty one years old, Paddy has already put together a solid record of 12-1. On Saturday, he only needed a little over ninety seconds to secure the Cage Warriors featherweight belt with a first round TKO victory over Johnny Frachey in the Echo Arena, Liverpool.

On Saturday night in the 02 Arena in London, several painful weeks of the most relentless marketing campaign ever conducted by Sky Sports News and Eddie Hearn finally came to a head. GGG vs Kell Brook came together in the fight that made no sense and by most accounts nobody actually wanted to see. Until Sky Sports News took the reigns.

Last night, Robbie Keane got a heroes send off as he rounded off his international playing career. As lovely and as poignant as this all is, it was all done against a back drop of a now all too familiar sight. The Aviva Stadium with not just empty seats but empty sections of seats. Every time that a camera panned up you could see it.
